PROGRAM - YOUNG PEOPLE STAGE

The Young People Stage is located in Greenhead Park. The performances represents young people's artistic talents in Music & Dance and is produced in partnership with key organisations working with young people in Kirklees and Huddersfield Carnival Committee.

All out Crew, Universal Dread, Africa 4 All Youth, Cultural Fusion, J4 YouthBand, Xplosion, Mothers Against Crime.

Plus Singers, Dancers, Rap, Open Mic session and much much more.

We regret to inform you due to circumstances beyond our control we have had to cancel the Huddersfield Carnival Event at Greenhead Park which was to be held on Saturday 14th July 2007.
Persistent torrential rainfall over recent weeks has forced Huddersfield Carnival Committee and Kirklees Council to cancel this year's Carnival event at the park. The Council's Emergency Planning Team assessed conditions at Greenhead Park but the heavily waterlogged ground conditions left them with no other option but to cancel the event for health and safety reasons.
Council safety officers and parks managers deemed the huge infrastructure of the Carnival, which consists of stages, marquees, fairground rides and temporary buildings, could be compromised by the soft and shifting ground in Greenhead Park. This, coupled with the Met Office's forecast for more heavy rain over the coming week, meant it would be too dangerous to proceed with this weekend's event.
